A Small Gift Guide 2022

A roundup of some things I think would make great gifts! For your partner, your best friends, your parent, or my personal fave to shop for - yourself :)

I also think it’s important to prioritize shopping with small businesses this Holiday season, and especially BIPOC-owned businesses (BIPOC = Black, Indigenous, or People of Color). I have noted which businesses are BIPOC-owned that I know of.

Caraway

For our friends who love baking/cooking. One of my absolute favorite kitchen essentials is Caraway’s bakeware set. I love their line of products because they are nonstick AND nontoxic - good for you and the environment. I think the bakeware set would make an amazing gift for a parent or family member who loves to cook, adult children, or even as a ‘household gift’. They also have a cute food storage set or tea kettle if you are looking for something a little less expensive. And it’s perfect timing because they are currently running their only sale of the year right now! This listing is part of a sponsored Holiday campaign.

Custom Vinyl from Vinylify

For your record-loving friends, how cute would it be to make a custom vinyl with a playlist and cover art you design! I think this would make a great gift for a partner or a best friend - truly a one-of-a-kind type of gift! I would be so stoked to receive this. You could make a cute album cover in Canva for free for the album artwork if you are not an artist. But beware - This one is not for the shopping procrastinators, it looks like you need to get orders in by November 20th-ish to guarantee receiving before Christmas!

Suay Sew Shop

BIPOC-owned business. For our color-loving friends. Suay is the coolest small batch shop who uses deadstock and recycled textiles to create a ton of awesome home goods. I think their linen napkin, placemats, or oven mits would make a cute gift but they have so many rad things to choose from. I can personally vouch for the placemats and I love them.

Ecovibe

BIPOC-owned business. For our eco-loving friends! This is a Portland store but they sell online and have a ton of cute eco-friendly things like kitchen items (re-usable straws and all that) and candles! I think candles are always a great choice, especially when they are non-toxic, and this one is perfect and reasonably-priced in my opinion!

Little Otsu

BIPOC-owned business. For our friends who love stationary! Little Otsu will be on every gift guide I make ever. The perfect store for cards and stationary. Also a local Portland business but they have a great online shop too. I highly recommend this planner - it’s my go-to and it’s undated which means it’s fine if the recipient goes weeks/months without using it like I do. Lot’s of great lil pens and calendars and notebooks too to make a cute lil stationary giftset!

Dieux Eye Mask

For our friends who love self-care! I feel like an advertisement for these because every time I talk about them I just gush about how great they are! I think this would make such a cute gift and you can pair it with a couple things like a jade roller, moisturizer, skin mask, or bath salts to make it more special.

Baggu

For our hard-to-shop for friends. I have never met anyone who doesn’t like Baggu. From the reusable bags in a million different fun prints, to the socks, to the pot holders, to the fanny packs.

ARQ

For your friends who love comfy things! I honestly love ARQ and I have given a friend a tank and high waisted undie set before as a gift. It can be tough to know sizes, so you can also do a gift card if you aren’t sure!
